Winter Meadow Reston

Winter Meadow, Reston

Oil, 36 x 48. Collection of the artist. Again, this is a large painting. It holds up well over a couch. When we moved to Reston in 1987, the prevailing philosophy was: let the easements re-meadow and re-forest. You see some of that here. Reston has gotten tamed a bit more since then, with more encrochment on communal land by neighbors. I remember when my neighbor (no longer there) came out and fussed at some young people riding on the easement because she had planted grass and their horses' hooves were causing depressions!
